Product Description
The Burndy MD7-34-KIT1 Hytool Posi-Press hand-operated crimper set consists of a Burndy MD7-34 manual crimping tool that weighs 7 lb. and is 25″ long, a metal carrying case, and dies for a range of terminals and splices. The tool provides 9,000 lb. of crimping force, and comes with a visual wear indicator that allows the user to verify that the tool is fit for making proper crimps. When excessive wear is indicated, the tool can be sent to the Burndy repair center for refitting at a lower cost than replacement. Its handles are made with a reinforced polymer composite for durability, and its forged steel jaws with black oxide finish are constructed with permanent modified “D3” die grooves, which accept all Burndy type “W” and “X” die inserts (not included) that can be held securely in place with the tool’s spring-loaded positive lock die retainer buttons. This crimping tool is suitable for in-shop or field repairs and installations that use copper lugs and splices from American Wire Gauge (AWG) #8 to 500 circular mils (kcmil), copper flex lugs and splices from #8 AWG to 350 kcmil, and thin wall C-taps from #12 to 3/0 AWG.
